Hi all
I am in the process of writing a module to make my programs as hard to pirate
as possible. While I know this is impossible, I think I am quite close to what
I feel is satisfactory comfort levels without going the route of the dreaded
dongle. My problem is this. I, like many before me, am using the hard drive
serial number as part of the process. Dave Ferguson wrote a nifty function to
do this. The problem is it only works on IDE drives. What do I do with people
who have SCSI drives?
Any replies would be most welcome. Here or email is fine.
TIA

I used to use Protection Plus for Clipper.

Mike Wozniak created it and still runs a more robust version over at www.softwarekey.com.

I am not sure if he still sells a Clipper compatible API though.

If I remember correctly, it was a combination of things like drive type, memory, IP Address, etc - that would allow the application to be locked to a machine.

It is worth a try.
